Underrepresented groups scholarships
We will be awarding at least three scholarships to early-career researchers who self-identify as being part of group typically underrepresented in geospatial research and industry. The scholarships are jointly sponsored by the Quantitative Methods Research Group (QMRG) and GIScience Research Group (GIScRG) of the Royal Geographical Society, with support from GISRUK. The scholarship will cover a free conference pass and a £100 contribution towards travel.
We will also be awarding at least ten scholarships to those researchers who self-identify as an early-career researcher (ECR). The scholarships are supported by our long-standing sponsor Ordnance Survey. ECR typically include students at all levels, as well as those who have recently gained their PhD, started a new career, changed career or returned from a career break. Scholarships will be awarded to those abstracts that score highest during the review process. The scholarship will cover a free conference pass.
If you wish to be considered for one of the scholarships, please submit your 1500-word conference abstract and fill in the short accompanying form. We will inform you of the outcome of the scholarship process when you receive your abstract review. All information in the form will be treated confidentially. Information will not be shared beyond the GISRUK co-chairs and the conference officer for each research group, and only for the purposes of administering the award. For further information about the process please contact us on [email@example.com].
