PLEASE NOTE: We have extended our registration deadline until 25th March to allow for final bookings. However, if you are booking after the original 14th March deadline we are unlikely to be able to offer you a place at the conference drinks reception on Thursday, unless we have cancellations.
Conference registration is now live via the University of Liverpool webstore. Please familiarise yourself with the information below before making a booking.
Main conference registration
The main conference will run from midday on Wednesday 6th April until midday on Friday 8th April.
Registration includes access to all of the sessions, keynotes, and events, as well as refreshments and catering throughout the main conference. Registration also includes an invitation to the main conference drinks reception held at The Lutyens Crypt. Due to COVID-19 we have made the decision to cancel the traditional conference dinner and replace it with a second smaller drinks reception, which is reflected in the price. There will also be a range of exciting pre-conference workshops led by CARTO and the Geographic Data Science Lab, available on a first-come-first-served basis to participants.
Conference registration will open at the end of January. You do not need to have had an abstract accepted to register to attend the conference. Please note our COVID policy detailed below before registering.

Pre-conference early-career workshop
Our local ECR committee have been hard at work organising a fantastic pre-conference workshop for our ECR community, from 11am on Tuesday 5th April until the start of the main conference on Wednesday 6th April.
This event will include a variety of panels involving speakers from across academia and industry, a mapping workshop, and an evening social event at Chapters of Us. The event is heavily subsidised by our conference sponsor ESRI.
Places at the ECR workshop are limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If you would like to attend the event we strongly recommend you book your place early to avoid disappointment. Tickets will be released at the same time as main conference registration.
|ECR workshop||ECR self-defined||Free||Ongoing|
We are currently planning to run an in-person conference. We are however constantly monitoring the evolving situation with COVID-19. Depending on the situation, we may need to make the decision to transfer the conference online in the weeks leading up to the conference. In this event, GISRUK will provide a full refund of the conference fee.
However, GISRUK cannot be responsible for any travel and accommodation expenses incurred if the conference does have to move online. As such, we would advise you to only book travel and accommodation that is fully refundable in the event of cancellation, or to take out appropriate travel insurance.
Unfortunately, due to the size of the conference we are unable to offer a hybrid alternative. If you are not able to attend the conference in person for any reason and have been accepted for an oral or poster presentation, please get in touch and we will do our very best to facilitate your contribution virtually.
All conference participants will also be expected to comply with the COVID-19 measures outlined in our Code of Conduct throughout the conference.
